Greetings Texas Senators and welcome to a new decade. I am sure that the next 10 years will be full of great times, as well as challenging times. Hopefully, there will be more of the good than the challenging, but I know that our training and dedication will keep us motivated and moving forward on our trek through life. Remember to pass this training on. Be a mentor to your local chapters and communities.

Our next state-wide board meeting will be held March 5-7 in San Antonio, TX. We will be meeting in conjunction with the Texas Jaycees at their Year End Convention. The lodging and Senate Breakfast will be at the Courtyard by Marriott/Sea World and the Texas Jaycee banquet will be held in Sea World. This should be a very exciting weekend! Room rates are $97.00/night through Feb. 20th and the Senate breakfast will be $20.00/person. Hotel, banquet, and Jaycees convention registration information can be found elsewhere on this website or by visiting www.texasjaycees.org.

That brings us to the most anticipated meeting of the year, The Region VIII Meeting, April 29 - May 1.  Texas is proud to host this year’s regional meeting in Houston, Texas. Chairman David Ray and his committee have been working tirelessly all year to make this a meeting to remember. The meeting will be held at the Springhill Suites by Marriott/Houston Hobby Airport. The hotel offers shuttle service from Hobby airport. There will be hospitality, tours, shopping, golf, and a trip to a local comedy club. There will be national and regional officers in attendance, as well as national and regional candidates to grill on the important issues before elections.

We are Proud To Be Texas Senators. Thank you for a great year so far and keep up the great work!!

Yours in the Senate,

David Johnson

The Jaycee Creed

We believe:

That faith in God gives meaning and purpose to human life;

That the brotherhood of man transcends the sovereignty of nations;

That economic justice can best be won by free men through free enterprise;

That government should be of laws rather than of men;

That earth s great treasure lies in human personality;

And that service to humanity is the best work of life.
